The New Players Theatre Guild of Fitchburg announces audition dates for the Pulitzer Winning Play, HARVEY to be performed on April 12, 13,14 & 19, 20, 21 at the New Players Theatre Guild Center for the Performing Arts. The audition dates will be Sun: Feb. 17 @ 6:00pm & Tues: Feb. 19 @ 7:00pm and will be held at The New Players Theatre—15 Rollstone St, Fitchburg, MA. There are 6 male roles and 6 female roles of various ages. Some of the major characters are: Elwood P. Down—a friendly eccentric and charming central character of the play; Veta Louise Simmons—Elwood’s sister, embarrassed by Elwood and scared for her daughter; Myrtle Mae Simmons—young, self-centered spinster-ish daughter if Veta; Dr. William Chumley—Esteemed psychiatrist, head of the sanitarium; Dr. Lyman Sanderson—handsome young psychiatrist, infatuated with Nurse Kelly; Ruth Kelly—a pretty young nurse attracted to Dr. Sanderson. Rehearsals for the show will be Sundays, Mondays & Thursdays and will start Sunday: Feb. 24.
