We had a great weekend celebrating our Grand Opening at the New Players
Theatre Guild Center For The Performing Arts!
We had a great show, that was well received, the cast had a blast and we
had a support staff assembled that couldn't be beat!
It WAS GREAT! (Revel in that for a
minute and wait for it..) But we are
just out of the starting gate!
lights hadn't cooled down, before a rehearsal for, "The Sunshine
Boys," was on.
We really want to
keep NPTGlee going. We have auditions
for, "Amahl," in a few weeks.
When "Amahl and the Night Visitors," is done, we'll be right
into the Cabaret! We would really like help the Fitchburg Theater Company in any way we can with their productions as well. They have already been a great help to NPTG.
What I am getting to is that WE NEED YOUR HELP! It's time to put more of the,
"community," into NPTG! You
need not want to be on stage or even know much of anything about
stagecraft. If you are willing to help, you
will get all the support you need to learn.
Nearly immediately, we need support personel for, "Sunshine
We need a producer, stage manager, stage hands, publicity help, house
managers, ushers, ticket managers, people to help with set construction,
lighting and perhaps sound.
Up until now, all of this stuff has been handled by a, "core" or
10-15 people and they can't do it all; but they would be willing to help more
people learn and take part in the joy of doing what we do.
Nancy and Bill may be involved with, "Amahl." Would someone be interested in helping
NPTGlee carry on during their absence?
Please think about what YOU can do, or want to learn more about.. You can all do something that will help and I
can pretty much guarantee you will enjoy being more of a part of NPTG.
If you can help with, "Sunshine Boys," drop me a note ASAP!
If you think you can contribute in any of the other ways I've mentioned,
e-mail me, along with any questions you might have.
Thanks for your time!! Please think
about it. WE NEED YOU!
Audition dates for Amahl will be: Sunday Sept. 23 @ 2:00pm, Monday Sept. 24 @ 7:00pm and Wednesday Sept. 26 @ 7:00pm.
Rehearsals will start on Monday, October 22nd.

New Players Theatre Guild's goal is to foster and promote an active interest in community theatre. It is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging people of all ages to participate in the joy of creating quality theater for the Montachusett area audiences.
NPTG presents small to large-scale musical productions, themed dinner theater productions and musical reviews for the public. Additionally, NPTG's "Showstoppers" perform musical reviews for public and private functions.
New Players Theatre Guild was founded in 1975 and varies in membership size, but has, at times grown to a membership of over 120 people.
The group is managed by a Board of Directors, elected yearly by the membership, as well as several committees that carry out the various activities of the organization.
Thanks to the cast, crew, directors and especially out Co-Chairs, the Storrs, for making Cabaret 2008 one of our most successful EVER!
Looking For Some Economical Entertainment For Your Function? Consider NPTG’s Showstoppers!
The Showstoppers give you the feel of BIG entertainment at a very reasonable price. All proceeds go to our non-profit organization.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to provide quality musical theatre to our area AND keep tickets affordable. For a number of years, Showstoppers has provided the needed income to allow us to continue to present theatre in Central Massachusetts, while keeping it economically accessible to everyone.
Showstoppers perform "themed" musical presentations, approximately 30 minutes in length, that have varied from "The 50's" to a "Country Jamboree."
The Showstoppers have performed at countless private functions, at Leominster’s Starburst and Johnny AppleseedCelebrations, mayoral inaugurations and on numerous occasions with the Ashby Band.
The following shows are available at the current time:
SONG OF AMERICA - A Choral review celebrating our home, out hope and our freedom 20TH CENTURY CELEBRATION - A decade by decade review of the best music of the last century THE MUSIC OF COLE PORTER - A review celebrating the genius of Cole Porter
